ODIE PET INSURANCE

ManyPets & Odie Pet Insurance

Odie Pet Insurance has partnered with ManyPets to ensure that ManyPets policyholders continue to receive uninterrupted coverage, guaranteeing your pets access to the medical care they need and deserve.

With shared values, commitment, and dedication to pet care, Odie and ManyPets are working closely to make the transition of your policy as seamless as possible.

We’ve compiled a list of questions below to help make this transition a little easier.

General Transition Questions

Why is ManyPets no longer offering new or renewed policies in the US?

Globally, ManyPets is making important changes, and with that, they have paused both new policy sales and renewals in the U.S. under the ManyPets brand. To ensure that all pets continue to receive coverage, Odie has partnered with ManyPets to offer a seamless transition for policy renewals.

What does it mean for Odie Pet Insurance to take over ManyPets’ policies?

When your current ManyPets policy reaches its renewal date, Odie will become the new pet insurance administrator. Odie will manage all aspects of the renewed policy so your pet receives coverage without any gaps. Odie will also continue to cover any existing health conditions covered under your current ManyPets policy (though not ones that pre-date the current policy). Once Odie renews the policy, we will handle claims, customer service, and any questions you may have from then on.

Why did ManyPets choose Odie?

ManyPets chose Odie because we share similar values and a strong commitment to providing pet parents with high-quality, comprehensive pet insurance. Odie is known for offering flexible plans, excellent customer service, and a simple claims process—all qualities that complement ManyPets’ mission of keeping pets happy and healthy.

What company are the policies underwritten by?

All policies will continue to be underwritten by Accredited Surety and Casualty Company, the same underwriter with which ManyPets was partnered. Accredited has an A- Excellent rating with AM Best.

Policy Renewals

When will the transfer of my ManyPets policy to Odie Pet Insurance officially take effect?

The transfer to Odie will take effect when your current ManyPets policy reaches its renewal date. Before this date, Odie will contact you with information on new policy terms and a renewal quote to ensure seamless coverage for your pet. Until the renewal date, your ManyPets policy remains active and fully operational, so there’s no immediate change to coverage.

Will my policy automatically renew with Odie?

Yes, our goal is to make this transition as easy as possible for you. You will receive a renewal email from Odie Pet Insurance with updates to your current policy terms and a new annual pet insurance quote. Your credit card will be charged on the Policy Effective Date of your Odie renewal.

Can I keep my Wellness Plan when I transition from ManyPets to Odie?

You can keep your pet’s Wellness Plan when your policy transitions to Odie. You can also make changes at anytime before your renewal.

How and when will I see my renewal details?

ManyPets will send an email alerting you of the change in policy administration 60-75 days prior to your renewal. From there, you will continue to receive email communications from Odie Pet Insurance 55 days, 30 days and 3 days prior to your renewal effective date. These emails will include information about your new policy details and annual premium. If you are not receiving emails from Odie, please check your spam folder or contact us at support@odiepetinsurance.com.

Can I see an example of the pet insurance policy?

A sample policy can be found under the MP rollover section on the Sample Policy Page of our website.

When will I get access to the Odie Member Portal?

On the date of policy renewal with Odie, you will receive a welcome email with information on how to log into your portal, see policy details, and submit claims.

When will I receive my policy documents and where can I access them?

Typically, policy documents are issued at the time of renewal, when the premium payment is received. This ensures that the insurance agreement is officially activated, as the receipt of payment signifies mutual consent to the policy terms.

Once payment is received, we will promptly issue your updated documents, which will be available in your 24/7 online account. Please note that your document will remain the same as your previous ManyPets policy.

How do I add an additional pet?

Once you become an official Odie Pet Insurance member, you can add an additional pet by logging into the main dashboard page of your member portal.

Can I choose to transfer to Odie before my renewal date?

Your ManyPets policy will remain active until the annual renewal date, so you won’t be able to transfer to Odie before then. To avoid any gaps in coverage, it’s best to let the ManyPets policy run its full term. Once it expires, Odie will take over and continue providing coverage without interruption.

What if I want to cancel my ManyPets policy before renewal?

We hope that you will take advantage of the continuity of coverage. However, should you decide to cancel and not renew your policy, please reach out to ManyPets’ member support team at manyhelp@manypets.com and/or 1-888-978-5291. Phone hours: 9-5 EST M-F. Once cancelled, the ManyPets policy will NOT renew with Odie.

Policy Coverage and Rates

Will I have the same rates as I was getting with ManyPets?

The renewal quote that Odie will provide utilizes the same rating guidelines that ManyPets would have used. Your new premium with Odie will be exactly the same as it would have been with the scheduled ManyPets renewal.

Who rates the policies?

Odie has become the new administrator on your ManyPets policy, and as such has retained their filings with Accredited Surety and Casualty Company (the underwriter for those policies). We are extending the same rates and coverage to you that you would have received with ManyPets.

Will policy coverage details (deductible, reimbursement percentage, annual limit ) change under Odie?

The policy coverage details will likely change slightly. However, even with potential changes, the plan will continue to ensure that your pet is well protected against any unexpected accidents or illnesses.

Will my premium amount change?

Premiums are based on several factors, including your pet’s age, breed, and location, as outlined in the state-approved rating guidelines (to ensure compliance with regulatory standards). These rates are designed to reflect current market conditions, including the increasing costs of veterinary services, and allow us to continue to provide comprehensive coverage for all policyholders.

Unfortunately, we cannot adjust premiums outside of these approved guidelines, but we are happy to help you find a policy option that may work better. For example, we could explore adjustments to your deductible or annual limit to help reduce costs. If you are interested in exploring other options, please contact our Member Support team at support@odiepetinsurance.com; they will be happy to assist you.

Why does the cost of veterinary care continue to increase in the United States?

The pet insurance industry has experienced significant growth and transformation in recent years, with an increasing number of pet owners seeking coverage for their pets.

As veterinary care costs continue to rise and medical treatments become more sophisticated, insurance companies are adapting their policies and pricing structures to maintain sustainability. Pet insurance companies have been forced to compensate for these rising costs of vet care with rate increases.

In 2024-2025, many pet insurance providers have filed for premium increases. Prior to their strategic shift, ManyPets was one of these providers. These rate adjustments, typically ranging from 10% to 30%, reflect the rising costs of vet care, as well as increased claim frequency due to the increased number of pets in homes and the advancement of veterinary medical technology, including specialized surgery and new diagnostic procedures.

How is my payment information being transferred to Odie? When will be credit card be charged?

Accredited Surety and Casualty continues as the underwriter for current ManyPets policies and renewals with Odie. Accredited has appointed Odie to manage policy administration and claims processing. To ensure a seamless transition, ManyPets and Odie have worked with Accredited to transfer only the essential data required for rating and binding renewal policies (such as pet information). Member data has not been shared or sold for direct marketing purposes.

Both companies use the same financial payment provider, so no banking details have been transferred or shared. These details remain with the payment provider. Instead of ManyPets, Odie will take over processing payments at renewal.

Your credit card on file will be charged for your renewal monthly premium on your policy effective date. Upon successful payment, you will receive an email confirmation from Odie.

What if my credit card payment fails?

Odie will send you an email stating that your payment has failed, and you will be provided with a link that will allow you to automatically update the default credit card we have on file. You can also use this link to update your credit card information: https://billing.stripe.com/p/login/fZe02n2cPfgkesM5kk

Will my pet still be covered if my pet has pre-existing conditions?

Odie will honor your pet’s current coverages for existing conditions as defined by your ManyPets policy, so there will be no disruption in care!

Will any pet insurance company cover my pet’s existing conditions—or just Odie?

If you transfer your pet’s coverage to a different pet insurance provider, it is likely that your pet’s current health conditions will be considered pre-existing and may not be covered. Additionally, you will likely need to restart waiting periods again. As such, it is highly beneficial to renew with Odie, especially if your pet has existing health conditions currently covered under your ManyPets policy.

Claims

How do I submit claims for dates before my ManyPets policy expires or I renew with Odie?

You can submit any claims for treatment that occurred while your ManyPets policy was active directly to ManyPets. The ManyPets team will process them as they always have. The Odie policy will take over from the renewal date onward, so there will be no gap in coverage for the pet.

What about my ManyPets claims that are currently under review?

If you have a claim that is currently under review with ManyPets, it will continue to be processed as usual by ManyPets, even after the transition to Odie.

When can I submit claims to Odie?

Claims can be submitted for any treatment date during the Odie policy term. Since there are no waiting periods, coverage begins immediately at the renewal date.

How do I submit claims to Odie?

Odie offers a straightforward claims process. Once the policy transitions, you can submit claims directly through your Odie customer portal. You will be asked a few questions related to your pet’s treatment and prompted to upload your invoice.

What is the claim reimbursement process?

Once a claim has been processed and approved, you will be notified via email by Odie to log into your member portal and select your preferred payment method. Like ManyPets, Odie offers reimbursement via paper check or ACH bank deposit. You can expect to receive your reimbursment within 5 to 7 business days. Please note that you will need to select a payment method for each individual claim.

Will my pet's medical records and information on pre-existing conditions be transferred?

Yes, ManyPets is facilitating a secure transfer of all medical records and pre-existing condition details for your pet. If Odie needs any further information about claims, we will request it from you directly at that time.
